Just when I was all blah, blah, wah, wah, wahhhh…. I had the most interesting and hopeful conversation with someone at lunch. It was exactly what I needed, exactly when I needed it.
I was kind of bummed that I ended up with door duty on the day everyone was dressed for Halloween. N and E were so jazzed about dressing up and I really wanted to see the parade… I was also somewhat concerned about the boys and their tendency to lose their minds in crowds of excited people. I try not to get in the middle of their business, but at least I try to keep an eye on things so they don’t break a limb.
I worried that me being on door duty would signal the beginning of the end of civilization as we know it.
Instead I had a most excellent conversation with a very wise and intuitive person, which started with a compliment about N, and which wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t been moping on door duty.
Maybe it *is* the beginning of the end of civilization as we know it! In a good way though. 🙂
So, for those keeping score at home, I’m back from the ledge.

Door duty? bummer. Glad you got to have a good conversation, though.
Also, you know how to change that annoying green monster that seems to be my avatar? It should be wolf. Maybe the green monster ate the wolf…or maybe the wolf scared the green monster and that’s why it has it’s arms up like a deer in the headlights and can’t move…or maybe it is saying the line from the Get Smart movie, seeing a swordfish coming toward his head…I’m not sure.

Being on door duty and following through is better than being on door duty, but closing the door and keeping all the candy.
